I was born and raised in Richmond, MN but recently have moved to St. Cloud, MN.
As a part of the of the Advanced Standing MSW program, I am in the beginning of my one and only year of school.
Previously during my undergraduate social work program, I had the opportunity to participate in a sexual assault advocacy training in which sparked my interest in advocating for women’s rights and helping victims of domestic violence. Growing up in the local area, I have always heard positive features of Anna Marie’s Alliance, so to partake in their agency’s work and mission is truly a great feeling.
During my time at Anna Marie’s Alliance, I hope to grow as a professional social worker and individual as I also develop skills to help the victims of domestic violence and gain a better understanding of domestic violence overall.
In my spare time, I like to be outdoors, spend time with family and friends, and relax while reading a good book.
If I had one wish, it would be to safely travel to Africa for a month. Since I was little, I have had a love for the wildlife in Africa, however, as I grow older, the love for Africa is now focused on wanting to help those that are experiencing severe poverty and medical conditions.
Sierra Bonham—Child/Youth Advocate
I am from Red Deer, Alberta Canada. I completed my BSW at North Dakota State.
I am in my final year of my MSW, and will be graduating May 2018.
Anna Marie’s Alliance works/helps with a population that I have not worked with before. As a young social worker, I want to grow and understand different populations within social work. I enjoy learning and feel I can have some sort of an impact on survivors.
I hope to become more familiarized with trauma informed care. I want to help make micro, mezzo, and macro changes that will benefit the population in which we serve. I think a lot of learning comes from experience so I just want to embrace whatever opportunities arise to help me grow as a social worker.
I love being outdoors and playing sports. I currently coach the SCSU Women's Soccer Team, I really enjoy coaching the women and seeing them grow as young women.
I would wish for a 6 month paid for trip around the world.
Mamusu Lamin—Criminal Justice Internvention Advocate
Sierra Leone, West Africa I just started this semester, but in the accelerated program. Will be graduating in May 2018 I love your mission statement: holding the dream of non-violence for women & children until they can hold if for themselves (ii) A co-worker of my Sandra Kruse told me about the wonderful women and Children advocate program that you run. I need the residents to help me understand violence and its effects on families and children. I love shopping and cooking To win the power-ball J – because with that amount of money I can go back to Sierra Leone and provide healthcare for women and children who cannot afford it and create programs that empowers women, teach them skills to be self-reliant and independent. Provide educational materials, uniforms, shoes for children whose parents cannot afford it. There is plenty I can do if only my wish would come true. That has always been my dream.
