The Hospital Based Advocacy Program opened in November of 1996. An
on-site advocate provides education to health care providers about domestic abuse and assists with the development and implementation of policies and protocol that encourage screening clients for domestic abuse so that appropriate referrals can be made.
Staff and on-call volunteer advocates provide on-site advocacy to victims identified and referred by hospital staff 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
