VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Women’s Support Volunteer

Do you want to make a difference in the life of a women escaping domestic violence? Then

become a Women's Shelter Support Volunteer at Anna Marie's Alliance. Volunteers at the

shelter answer and direct phone calls, staff the front desk, and monitor front door of the shelter.

Volunteers also provide transportation for the women and children living at the shelter.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Answer and direct phone calls.

2. Staff the front desk.

3. Monitor front door.

4. Interact on a casual -support basis with resident women and children.

5. Provide transporation to residents.

6. Basic office support.

7. Record and assist with incoming donations.

Minimum Qualifications to perform the duties of the position:

1. Excellent interpersonal communications skills

2. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.

3. Uneventful driving record. No DWI or DUI

4. Uneventful criminal record.

5. Ability to work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic

backgrounds.

6. Ability to work independently and as a team.

7. Detail oriented

8. Belief in non-violence

9. Self starter

10. Age 20 and over; female

Requirements: 4 hours of training and a six month commitment.

Volunteers are expected to work a minimum of one 4 hour shift per week. Shifts are available

Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and/or 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

Dress Code: Business casual dress which means no jeans, tank tops, crop tops, low rider pants

or skirts, shorts, flip-flops, sweatshirts, sweat pants, sneakers or flip-flops. Except on Fridays,

when jeans and sneakers are considered casual Friday attire.
